GFMS World Gold is an independent, mining equities research company formed as a joint venture between GFMS, the world's foremost precious metals consultancy, and World Gold Analyst, the gold mining industry's leading independent information source and investment aid.

The company's flagship publication is the long-established World Gold Analyst. In addition, the company publishes the popular series of comprehensive regional reports into gold exploration and development and undertakes independent research into companies producing or exploring for precious metals worldwide.

GFMS World Gold is run out of London by Paul Burton, who is also the editor of World Gold Analyst.

Paul graduated as a mining engineer from the Camborne School of Mines in 1975 and spent almost twenty years working in the South African gold mining industry, in the areas of production, mineral economics and minerals marketing.

He has been editor of World Gold Analyst since early in 1996, when it was part of the Mining Journal Ltd. He is an established speaker on the international conference scene and is Chairman of the FTSE Gold Mines Index Committee.

He holds an MSc in Mineral Economics and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand.

GFMS World Gold also has a team of researchers who contribute to the publications and the company can also call on the metal price forecast services of the main GFMS consultancy.
